- Be enrolled in an undergraduate, graduate or PhD degree programme or have graduated within the past two years.
- Have a first-level university degree in Human Resources Management, Public Health, Law, International Relations, Business Administration or related field
Within the delegated authority and under the supervision of HR Manager or his/her designated mandated representative(s), the UN Volunteer will:
- In collaboration with colleagues in communications, prepare informational videos, revise available external information and the webpage on matters related to medical insurance, workers’ compensation, medical evacuation, support with staff members who are parents of children with special needs, etc.
- Assist in the preparation and conduct of informational sessions and webinars, as appropriate.
- Together with ICT – design and maintain a strong, internal monitoring database to ensure accuracy for the recording of Medical Evacuations from each Country Office.
- Design a form to be shared with all Country Offices for reporting to PERCS on a quarterly basis
- Respond to e-mail queries from Country Offices regarding the quarterly reporting of Medical Evacuations.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
- Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
- Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
- Provide annual and end of assignment self- reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and opportunities.
- Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites, newsletters, press releases, etc.;
- Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
- Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering, or encourage relevant local individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible
- Be fluent in English. Knowledge of one other UN working language an advantage.
- Have a good knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications
- Knowledge of a range of HR metrics and ability to skillfully work with data analytics and create graphs and charts.
- Excellent organization skills with ability to manage projects, multitask and prioritize effectively.
- An understanding of how UNICEF functions and some knowledge of the HR systems, policies and procedures.
- Candidates who are already residing in the US will be given preference.
- Have a good knowledge of relevant computer systems and applications
- Knowledge of a range of HR metrics and ability to skillfully work with data analytics and create graphs and charts
