Short-term Solidarity Corps volunteering project “Back to the nature”
Start date: 1st June 2019
Duration: 2 months
Place: Lithuania, Širvintos

ABOUT:
Viking’s village is the newly established living history museum of X – XIII century, where people can feel the spirit and life of ancient times: cook food on the bonfire, ground the flour, collect herbs, sew traditional clothes, live like hundreds of years ago, etc. Also, in the knight’s zone people can try to wear ancient armours, suits, use the swords and feel like real ancient knight.
ACTIVITIES:
June: volunteers could join educations for children in living history museum in different spheres: ancient warfare traditions, ancient cuisine, ancient board-games and leisure time.
July: volunteers could join different activities in the children and family camps, also join the new projects of the development of living history museum and its environment: planting ancient flower gardens, carving, working with wood, decorating ancient buildings and fences, rabbit house building, etc. During the summer Viking’s village are visiting different kind of ancient history festivals in different cities where are organizing board-games and crafts so volunteers will be welcome there too.
Expectations for volunteer:
- 18-30 years old,
- Motivation to learn new things and take challenges with open heart;
- Motivation and preparation for activities in the nature;
- Being interested in ancient history;
- Good mood!

Requirement for the volunteer:
- Excellent German or French knowledge as well as good English knowledge
- Knowledge in Content Management and Social Media General information concerning the EVS program in Switzerland
- This project is fully subsidized by the Swiss government und not the EU, because Switzerland is not member of the Erasmus+ programme.
- The volunteer lives with a Swiss host family, providing board and lodging. The candidate should be motivated to actively take part in the host family’s life and understand living with them as an important part of an intercultural learning experience.
- The total amount for international travel costs reimbursements are CHF 400.
- The transportation costs from the project to the host family are covered.
- The volunteer is insured through the ICYE group insurance
- The volunteer receives a pocket money of CHF 300 per month (about 275 EUR)
- The volunteer works about 32 hours a week.
- The duration of the EVS is 8 months.
- The volunteer receives a certificate filled in by ICYE Switzerland and the hosting organization (not a Youth Pass), as well as an employment reference.
About ICYE
ICYE (International Cultural Youth Exchange) aims to connect people from different cultures and backgrounds. Getting to know a different culture through working as a volunteer in a social or cultural institution and living with a local host family widens one’s horizon and supports people’s personal development while encouraging understanding and respect between different societies and cultures.
ICYE tries to achieve these goals through its cultural exchange programs:
- They send Swiss youths abroad for short term (1-4 months) and long term (6 or 12 months) voluntary services.
- They host young people from all over the world for long term exchanges (6 to 12 months).
- During their exchange programs, these young people work as volunteers in local institutions and live with a host family.The team of ICYE Switzerland consists of 4 part time employees, 1 trainee and 2 EVS volunteers. The programs are implemented with the help of many voluntary co-workers.The volunteer has the opportunity to work in the field of Content Management and Social Media and has his/her own project which corresponds to her/his competences. He/she has the opportunity to establish contacts with the co-workers of ICYE as well as with the volunteers and voluntary co-workers.
What the volunteer can gain:
- insight into all the various and interesting tasks of a small non-profit organization
- improve his/her German, English and French knowledge
- competences in intercultural learning
- work experience in Content Management and Social Media.
Activities of the volunteer:
Support with the development and editing of the website www.icye.ch (Content Management System Typo 3) and search engine optimization (SEO).
Development and supervision of our Social Media channels (Facebook, Instagram and Linkedin) together with a small team of voluntary co-workers.
Production and marketing of thrilling target-group-oriented stories about the ICYE world for online communication.

We are looking for volunteers to create an FOLK INTERNATIONAL MUSIC PERFORMANCE. The volunteers will play traditional music from different countries, participate in other presentations and participate in workshops OF singing, acting, team building. We want to find people with initiative that generate their own ideas and we will do everything possible to join them in the good team.
- Accommodation, food and transport arrangements
- We are part of the European Solidarity Corps, so your age should be 18 to 30 years.
- We will provide the volunteers all their costs: travel tickets, accommodation, money for food, pocket money and visa (if necessary).- Volunteers will live in an agroturistic house with other volunteers in a shared room (2-3 volunteers in a room) in the city of Hajnówka in Podlasie, a unique region in eastern Poland with a rich history and traditions, surrounded by beautiful Białowieza forest.Volunteer profile- You sing and/or play an instrument, which you can take with you. (If you write music, please send us the audio).
- You’re interested in folk (ethno) music, but also open to experiments.- You have some experience in acting or public speaking.
- It’s desirable to have improvisation skills.Record a video of up to 3 minutes of you singing or playing the FOLK song of your country.

Arrabal-AID is a social and non-profit organization established in 1992 and based in Malaga and Chiclana de la Frontera, Spain. Our mission is to work with people who have risk of social exclusion, especially the most vulnerable. We promote the social integration of citizens and facilitate the employment.
The work areas of Arrabal – AID are: orientation on employment, occupational insertion, trainings and social dynamization; work with youth in education area, international exchanges; provide information and communication technology trainings and organize social development activities.
1) COMUNICATION AND MASS MEDIA AREA VACANCY
We are looking for open-minded, creative and motivated person who is passion for design, taking photos and create video. Volunteer’s main role will include all things from typical corporate style photo and video making.
Selection criteria are:
– To be between 18-30 years of age;
– To be able to communicate in English;
– Spanish language will be a plus;
– With background recording and editing videos;
– Experience with Photoshop and video making tools;
– Be able to collaborate with other organization in social communication advertising;
– Other tasks that may arise;
Professional photo camera is not necessary but will be a plus.
2) Capi: Center for the public access and use of Internet.
We are looking for motivated young person who is ready to work in our Center for the public access and use of Internet.
Candidate should have excellent communication skills, ready to work in international environment and teach children and adult how to use computers, basic programs (OC Linux) and help them to create CV in Spanish and English languages.
Selection criteria are:
– To be between 18-30 years of age;
– Open- minded person with excellent communication skills;
– Must have computer skills: Microsoft Office, Microsoft Package; Text processor; Excell; Power point presentation; Managing with different types of data bases, spreadsheets, all Microsoft Office features in general;
– Tutoring and facilitating course of foreign languages with different groups of adults, youth, children ect.
– Awareness campaigns, be able to promote Erasmus + programs among local young people, search for new EVS partner organizations, interaction, communication and organization of the required vacancies; to keep contact with international partners.
– Organize different activities related to social transformation and dynamization.
